NetSuite Alternatives for Growing US Companies (2026): Costs Compared
Short answer: The strongest NetSuite alternatives for growing US companies are Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Acumatica, Sage Intacct, SAP Business One, Odoo and ERPNext. They differ most in how they charge: per user, by resources used, or not at all.
NetSuite is still the right answer for some companies, especially groups with many subsidiaries. Most buyers leave over the shape of the cost, not the features, so compare five-year totals rather than first-year quotes.
Why companies look beyond NetSuite
- A platform fee before anyone logs in. A base licence is charged on top of every user licence.
- No public price list. Oracle does not publish NetSuite pricing, so similar companies can pay quite different amounts.
- Renewal. Multi-year discounts help the first term. The question is the price at renewal, once your data and processes live inside the system.
- Implementation. The services bill is often larger than the first year of licences.
What NetSuite costs in 2026
| Component | Typical 2026 figure | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Base platform | From about USD 999 a month | Higher for larger editions and service tiers |
| Full user licence | About USD 129 to 199 per user per month | Commonly reported as rising from a historic USD 99 |
| Implementation | From about USD 25,000 to 500,000 or more | Driven by modules, subsidiaries, integrations and data |
These are independent estimates, because Oracle negotiates every contract. Use them to sanity-check a quote, not to predict one.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
The closest like-for-like swap for a NetSuite customer, with pricing Microsoft actually publishes. Since 1 November 2025 the US list price is USD 80 per user per month for Essentials and USD 110 for Premium, which adds manufacturing and service management. Team Member licences for light users cost USD 8. Choose it if your company runs on Microsoft 365. Watch for the partner's add-ons, which carry their own fees.
Acumatica
Acumatica does not charge per user. Its price is based on the applications you license and the transaction volume you process, and every edition includes unlimited users. Choose it if many people need occasional access, such as warehouse, field or project staff. Watch for how your price moves as transaction volume grows, and get the tier thresholds in writing.
Sage Intacct
A finance-first cloud system with strong multi-entity accounting and reporting, popular with services businesses and nonprofits. Independent guides put entry subscriptions from about USD 12,000 a year, with typical subscriptions higher. Choose it if the finance team is the main user and inventory or manufacturing is light. Watch for operational gaps that need other applications alongside it.
SAP Business One
SAP's ERP for small and mid-sized companies, sold and implemented by SAP partners. Independent estimates put cloud subscriptions at roughly USD 95 to 250 per user per month depending on user type and hosting, and on-premise licences at about USD 3,500 to 5,500 per user plus 18 to 20% a year for maintenance. Choose it if you want an established brand with strong inventory and financials. Watch for the partner's share of the total cost, since SAP does not sell it directly.
Odoo
A broad suite covering accounting, inventory, manufacturing, CRM, ecommerce and more, with a very large partner network. Enterprise plans charge per user; multi-company, Studio and external API access sit on the higher Custom plan. Choose it if you want many apps from one vendor with a consistent interface. Watch for renewal pricing after the first-year discount. Our ERPNext vs Odoo comparison covers the details.
ERPNext
Fully open-source ERP with no licence fee: accounting, inventory, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, projects and HR, with multi-company and API access included. You pay for hosting and implementation. Choose it if user count is what makes NetSuite expensive, or you want to own your customisations. Watch for US sales tax automation, which you should confirm for your ERPNext version, and partner quality. See what ERPNext really costs.
When NetSuite is still the right answer
- You consolidate many subsidiaries across countries and currencies, and need that to work without customisation.
- Revenue recognition under US GAAP is complex, with multi-element contracts and subscriptions.
- You want one SaaS vendor accountable for the platform, with a large marketplace of add-ons.
- Your current NetSuite instance is stable and the switching cost would outweigh the licence saving.
A five-year cost test
For each shortlisted system, add the first-year licence, four renewals at the renewal price rather than the discounted one, hosting if it is not included, and implementation. Use the number of people who will actually log in, including warehouse and field staff. The ranking often changes once light users and year-four renewals are counted.
Moving off NetSuite
Master data, the chart of accounts, open invoices and opening balances migrate well. The harder parts are saved searches and reports that finance relies on, SuiteScript customisations that must be rebuilt, and integrations. Plan at least one month-end close in parallel before switching off NetSuite.

Frequently asked questions
What are the best NetSuite alternatives for US companies?
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Acumatica, Sage Intacct, SAP Business One, Odoo and ERPNext. How much does NetSuite cost in 2026?
Oracle does not publish prices. Independent 2026 estimates put the base platform from about USD 999 a month and full user licences at about USD 129 to 199 per user per month, with implementation from about USD 25,000 to 500,000 or more depending on scope.
Is Business Central cheaper than NetSuite?
Often, for small and mid-sized teams. Business Central has no base platform fee and a published US list price of USD 80 per user per month for Essentials and USD 110 for Premium. Compare five-year totals including implementation and add-ons before deciding.
Which NetSuite alternatives do not charge per user?
Acumatica prices by applications and transaction volume with unlimited users, and ERPNext has no licence fee at all, so you pay only for hosting and implementation.
Is ERPNext a real alternative to NetSuite?
For many distribution, manufacturing and services companies, yes, particularly where user count drives the NetSuite bill. It is a weaker fit for groups needing complex multi-country consolidation or advanced US GAAP revenue recognition without customisation.
What does it cost to migrate off NetSuite?
Budget for implementing the new system, not just copying data. Reports built on saved searches, SuiteScript customisations and integrations all need rebuilding, and you should run at least one month-end close in parallel.
